Dusk and dawn are my favourite times of the day. Perhaps befittingly as these hours are referred to as "the golden hours" by photographers, mainly because the light is soft and warm. I love sunsets, they are different everyday and the colours are almost always dramatic.

Engagement Session: Michelle & Remi

Michelle & Remi's Engagement: they were so sweet and you can tell that they are so great together, I loved being part of their day.

Thank you Michelle and Remi!

and here are some additional photos of their three adorable family members: Gilmour (their adorable doggie) and Missy and Bindles.

If anyone is interested in a portrait session or have an upcoming event they'd love to have photos of, please feel free to contact me!

a certain something

METRO Photo Challenge: charmed

I submitted a few photos to the Metro Photo Challenge 2010 today, this being one of them.

I struggled for a long time with naming the photo and finally settled on "charmed". But just after I submitted it, a certain well known French phrase came to mind: je ne sais quoi. Often used to describe the effortlessly elegant French women. For me, this is the perfect phrase to describe Carey Mulligan, the actress in the picture.

wanderlust: New Zealand

I refer to New Zealand (lovingly of course) as the "Land of the Hobbits". Remember those dream-like landscapes from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy?

This photo below really shows the incredible landscape of the country. One day, I'm going to buy a one-way ticket heading to Wellington, and then spend an entire month exploring.
