autumn sun

Fall has always been my favourite season - what is it about this season? The cool but comfortable, for the most part, temperature. The comfy spot between the sweltering heat of the summer (if we are lucky that is, it is Canada after all) and the blistering cold of the winter. Even the rain is bearable in Fall. The leafs that turn all shades of yellow, orange and red (again, dependent on the weather fairy when you live in Canada). And after they fall, the rustling noise they make as you step through them. Furthermore, there was always something so sentimental about the season for me.

Recently though, I've discovered something else I love about Fall - the autumn sun. There is a special quality to the sunlight in the Fall mornings. Bright and warm, it envelopes you in the crisp mornings and casts a golden hue to everything it touches. I love it, and makes me want to lay lazily by the water all day :)

sneak peek

Michelle has become a friend since I've started my current job about a year ago. This past weekend, Remi, Michelle's sweetheart of 3.5 years, proposed to her! Here is her sweet engagement story.

Michelle already had a photo session scheduled with her friend and photographer, David prior to her engagement. When I mentioned to her last week that I am working on building my portfolio, she asked me to come along! It was very gracious of her and David. I had a great time and as a first shoot, learned some valuable stuff. David and I have a similar approach to photography, so it was great to see him in action! You can check out his website here.

Without further ado, here is a sneak peek at the engagement session! hope you like it, and feel free to drop a comment/email.

Leaves honey?

I don't think so!

ahhh!

never let me go

Every year, for 2 weeks, Toronto is abuzz with movie screenings and celebrity sightings. This year tiff celebrated 35 years of great cinema! And, it was my first time going.

We watched two movies, Little Sister and Never Let Me Go. Little Sister is a re-telling of the Cinderella story with a Chinese origin. It was sweet and lovely with beautiful cinematography. Never Let Me Go, on the other hand, was the reason that I went to the festival this year. It is based on a novel by acclaimed English author Kazuo Ishiguro, which I read over 4 years ago and is one of my favourite books. I thought the movie was great. I felt that the director and the actors conveyed the essentials of, or the soul of, the novel into the movie. This kept the story in its original form, even though the movie is much shorter.

The movie's main star, Carey Mulligan, along with co-start Andrew Garfield attended the screening. The author, who is said to have liked how the movie turned out, was also present.

A few photos from the movie screening.
